Meals on Wheels

The Meals on Wheels program serves persons who are aged 60 and older and are homebound. Volunteer drivers deliver a hot, nutritious meal between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The meals help maintain good nutrition, which plays an essential role in promoting health and preventing disease.

An in-home assessment of need is required to be enrolled in the program. Staff from the Department of Health and Human Services will conduct an in-home visit to assist in completing the required paperwork and provide additional information about other available resources.

A monthly statement is sent to each person receiving home-delivered meals through the Meals on Wheels program. The statement shows the number of meals delivered for the month and the cost per meal. Donations from Meals on Wheels participants are requested, but not required. Donations help to continue and expand the nutrition program.

Persons in need of home-delivered meals can contact the DHHS Nutrition Program by calling (262) 741-3333 or by calling toll-free (800) 365-1587, extension 3333.
