This may involve a victim being contacted by an individual and being told they can fix or install items at the house. The subject will pressure the victim to act quickly, might ask to be paid in cash, or offer to provide financing. The subject will take the money and either not return or make cheap repairs that make things worse. They may even put the victim in a bad financing agreement that could put the house at risk.
Some of these individuals come with other co-actors and, while the victim is out of the house or distracted talking with one subject, their accomplice(s) take advantage to go through the house and steal money, jewelry, or other valuables.
