If you are a victim of identity theft we ask that you access the Identity Theft website. This website allows you to report identity theft, receive a recovery plan and provides additional information about identity theft and resources. The Walworth County Sheriff's Office utilizes the Identity Theft website that is provided by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
Once you complete your online report print out a copy and bring it to the Walworth County Sheriff's Office or provide it to a deputy when you file your formal complaint. It is suggested you maintain a copy of the report for your own records and provide copies of the report to companies where any fraudulent accounts were opened or effected.
If you have any questions, you may contact the Sheriff's Office at 262-741-4400 and speak with a deputy. You may or may not be contacted by a detective regarding your case. Depending on the circumstances of your complaint, this matter may be forwarded to another law enforcement agency.
