Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) assessments (PDF) are always ordered when someone is convicted of OWI. The Behavioral Health Division serves as Walworth County’s Intoxicated Driver Program provider. This means that Walworth County Department of Health and Human Services is the only entity in the county that can complete OWI assessments and carry out the monitoring of the Driver Safety Plan.
An assessment determines the extent of the person's alcohol and/or drug abuse problem. Consumers must pay the established rate with cash or money order at the time of their scheduled appointment. Canceling or rescheduling an OWI assessment appointment must be done 48 business hours in advance otherwise the fee will increase and/or the consumer may be placed in a prepay status. To schedule an initial appointment, cancel or reschedule an appointment, call 262-741-3791.
If you are not a Walworth County resident, but live in Wisconsin use the Intoxicated Driver Program Directory Listing to search for a facility in the County that you live in.
If you reside in Illinois, were cited for OWI in Illinois, or were cited on an Illinois license you will be referred to an Illinois facility. Locate an Illinois facility near you.
