Trail Rules
Trail Passes
A trail pass is required for:
- Bicycle riders 16 years of age and older.
- Horseback riders. (Horseback riders must also obtain a State Trail Pass)
A trail pass is not required for walking or jogging on the trail.
Trail passes cost $5.00 per day, or $25.00 per year and can be purchased at the self-registration stations (see Trail Access / Locations below). The trail pass fee is the same for Wisconsin residents and non-Wisconsin residents.
Various vendors also have trail passes available for purchase, such as:
- City of Elkhorn Chamber of Commerce
- Walworth County Public Works Department
- Pedal & Cup in Springfield
- Bob's Pedal Pusher in Burlington
- Walworth County Visitor's Bureau
Trail Access / Locations
There are 5 places within Walworth County where you may park and access the White River State Trail.
Location 1 (Trailhead)

Volunteers assist with trail maintenance, invasive species removal, and trail improvements for the State Trail and in our Walworth County Parks. Water and lunch will be provided. Join us!
