Budget Adoption

The 2024 budget was formally adopted at the County Board meeting on November 7, 2023.

Overnight Oats

Eating healthily in the morning doesn’t have to be hard. Daniel Clausen and Chetney Blaszczyk from Walworth County Health & Human Services are heading back to Delavan’s Aram Public Library on November 16 at 5 p.m. to share a convenient, affordable, customizable recipe that the whole family will love—overnight oats! With countless add-ins and flavor combinations, your tummy is in for a treat! Learn more and register.

 

Immunization Clinics

Walworth County Public Health provides immunizations against vaccine-preventable diseases for children and adults. Vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to protect against illness.

Walworth County Public Health will hold immunization clinics in November on:

  • Tuesday, November 21, from 3 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Beef Up—Forage Management Workshop

Join UW-Madison Division of Extension Educators for an educational workshop on Beefing Up—Forage Management on Friday, November 17, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Whitewater University Innovation Center at 1221 Innovation Drive, Whitewater. This beef production workshop will highlight forage management practices to improve haying and grazing potential. Proper administration of antibiotics, vaccinations, and other animal health products will also be discussed, along with a cattle market outlook and livestock risk protection options. One CEU towards Beef Quality Assurance is available by attending this workshop. The cost to attend is $10, which includes dinner and all workshop materials. Welcome to Medicare Workshops

If you become eligible for Medicare soon, it may be beneficial for you to attend one of the Welcome to Medicare workshops on Thursday, December 7, at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., at the Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Walworth County. These workshops will cover what you need to know about your Medicare benefits, options, insurance coverage, and medication coverage.

The workshops will be held in the Walworth County Room at Walworth County Health and Human Services, 1910 County Rd NN, Elkhorn. Attendees are encouraged to bring a list of their current medications for a Medicare Part D assessment. Clerk of Court Resignation

Effective December 10, 2023, Kristina Secord will resign from her position as Walworth County Clerk of Circuit Court. 

"It has been an honor to serve the public in this capacity, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have made a positive impact during my tenure," said Secord. "I have decided to resign in order to pursue other public service opportunities within Walworth County. I believe that this is the best decision for me at this time. I am confident that my successor will continue to uphold the high standards of excellence that we have set. I want to express my gratitude to my colleagues, staff, and constituents for their support and dedication. I have been fortunate to work with some of the most talented and committed individuals in the court system, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together.”

Secord will be available to assist with the transition and to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities. In the meantime, she will be focusing on her new role with the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.
